National assessments related to nuclear safety
The Nuclear Safety Directive 2014/87/Euratom requires EU Member States to undertake, every six years, national assessments on a specific topic related to nuclear safety, followed by a peer review by other Member States, with the European Commission as an observer.
The first topical per review concerns the ‘ageing management’ of nuclear reactors or, more specifically, the ageing effects on structures, systems and components.
